Frequently Asked Questions About RV Repair in Florida

Frequently Asked Questions About RV Repair in Florida

1. What is the most recommended regular maintenance service for any RV, motorhome, or fifth wheel?

We highly recommend inspecting and resealing the exterior caulking and sealants. This includes the roof, belt lines, slide-outs, windows, doors, vents, lights, trim, and any other exterior areas that require sealant. As a general rule, we recommend having your RV exterior seals inspected and serviced once every year to year and a half.

2. What is the most expensive RV repair you commonly see?

These are almost always related to water leaks. A leak may look small from the outside, but water can travel into areas the owner cannot see. This is why we recommend having your RV caulking and sealants inspected and serviced at least once a year, even if everything looks okay from the outside. RV leak prevention is almost always much cheaper than repairing the damage after water has already entered the RV.

3. How often should I have my RV inspected?

We recommend having your RV inspected every six months to one year, depending on how often you use it and how it is stored. Routine inspections can help catch small problems before they turn into expensive repairs.

4. Do you work on all RV brands and models?

Yes. Talin RV Service is a full RV service center, and we work on most RV brands, makes, and models, including motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and campers. We do perform generator diagnostics and generator repairs. However, we do not perform chassis, engine, transmission, or tire work.

5. What is a Guardian Plate?

A Guardian Plate is a custom-built stainless steel protection plate manufactured by Talin RV. Guardian Plates are installed on the exterior corners of RV slide-outs and underneath the slide-out where the rollers contact the slide floor to prevent damage an extend the life of the slide-out structure.

6. Do you perform RV collision, fiberglass, and paint repairs?

Yes. Talin RV Service performs RV body repairs, fiberglass repairs, paint repairs, and insurance-related collision repairs. This may include damaged fiberglass panels, lower body damage, compartment door damage, slide-out damage, corner damage, paint blending, and other exterior body repairs.

7. What type of repairs can be completed by your mobile technicians?

Our mobile RV technicians can complete many RV repairs and service calls at your location, depending on the type of repair, access to the RV, and the tools required. Mobile service is commonly used for diagnostics, appliance repairs, electrical issues, plumbing repairs, air conditioner service, water heater repairs, generator repairs, sealant inspections, minor roof repairs, and other general RV service needs.
